Why should I become an Officer?
Becoming an Officer is an incredible opportunity and your chance to make a real difference to students at the University of Worcester. The Officer roles are full-time paid positions where you’ll gain valuable skills and experience, whilst representing the interests and welfare of students like you. If you have a passion for supporting students, this is the ideal role for you.

Do I need any experience to run?
You don’t need any experience to become an Officer. All you need is the passion to stand up, speak out, and make a difference. We’ll give you all the support, training, and resources so you can unlock the tools you need to become a successful Officer.

How do I nominate myself?
Nominations are online only, and you are able to nominate yourself any time between Monday 8th December 2025 and Friday 27th February 2026. Our nominations guide has all the details on how to submit your nomination.

Can international students become Officers?
Yes, international students can stand for election and become an Officer. We’ve had several international students run, and win, in the elections in previous years. Make sure you read our guidance for international students for everything you need to know about the elections.

When do the elections take place?
Nominations for the elections open on Monday 8th December 2025. Campaigning begins on Thursday 5th March, with voting taking place from Monday 9th March until Thursday 12th March. Check out our elections timeline for details on every stage of the elections.

What is a manifesto?
This is the document that each candidate has to produce and outlines their aims, objectives, and priorities if they were to be elected as an Officer. Manifestos are published online, and form the basis of your campaign, and are used by students to decide who they want to vote for.

How do I run a campaign?
There is no right or wrong way to run an effective campaign, every campaign is different and every student you speak to will have different opinions and priorities. Make sure to read our campaign to win guide for everything you need to know about campaigning.
