Studying at Worcester is both exciting and challenging, and looking after your personal safety, health and wellbeing is crucial for making your university experience a positive one.
At Worcester Students’ Union, we are committed to empowering students to feel happy, healthy, and safe. We want you to know that a range of support is available to you, should you need it.
Emergency and crisis
If you are in crisis and need immediate support to keep yourself safe, please contact the emergency services by calling 999.
If you're not in need of immediate danger but still need advice you can contact the NHS by calling 111 or the police by calling 101.
You can also contact the University Security Services who can offer you advice on your safety concerns.
Physical and Mental Health
If you want advice or support with a specific health issue, please contact your doctor. Find out how to register as a patient at a local doctor’s surgery.
If you have been diagnosed with a disability and need reasonable adjustments to access education, contact the university’s Disability service.
If you need mental health support, you can submit a self-referral to the university’s counselling service STAR.
You can find out more information about sexual health by visiting the SH:24 website and order free condoms from the Students’ Union by completing the online enquiry form.
Personal safety
It is important that you are informed about how to keep yourself safe while studying. Click the links below to find out more information.
If you have concerns about your safety in halls or not, you can contact the university’s Police Community Support Officer & Security.
Wellbeing
If you want general support or advice about your Health and Wellbeing, visit Firstpoint and request an appointment with an advisor. You could also attend Firstpoint’s ‘Fancy a Cuppa?’ where you can have a free hot drink and biscuit while talking to a student wellbeing champion about support available to students.
You can find out more about opportunities to socialise with other students by browsing our clubs, societies, and volunteering pages.
For more information about signposting, visit our A- Z pages or contact the Students’ Union Welcome Desk.
