It looks as though the mini heat-wave is over for the time-being. We’ve loved having people sat outside in Union Square, and playing with the pop-up Badminton and Volleyball. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we can get them out again. We also had a live performance from upcoming singer song-writer, Sody, which was a proper treat! 

As usual, there’s another busy month ahead at the Students’ Union, from electing the brand new Full Time Officer team to splatting pies in the face of your Officers for Red Nose Day! We wouldn’t have it any other way…Keep reading to find out about all our major events happening in March. Union Awards: Students’ Choice Awards

Nominations are still open for the Union Awards: Students’ Choice. Is there a member of teaching or support staff here at the University of Worcester who really sticks out in your mind? If they’ve positively contributed towards your time as a student, don’t forget to nominate them at bit.ly/scas2019 before 28th March 2019.

Tickets for both the Union Awards and Colours Ball will go on sale on Monday 18th March. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

Fairtrade Bake Off

Win a Fairtrade hamper worth £20. Bring your entry (which needs to include at least one Fairtrade ingredient) to the SU Welcome Desk by 14:00 on Friday 8th March. Judging will take place at 15:00, and both students and staff can take part. You must also hand in a list of ingredients with each entry.

Elections Voting

Voting opens for the SU Leadership Elections on Tuesday 12th March at 14:15. This is your chance to decide who will be leading the Students’ Union during the upcoming academic year. You can vote online at www.worcsu.com/vote or you can find us at a polling stations at City Campus and St John’s. Make sure you join us in finding out who’s won the race by joining us at the Big Red Nose Results Night in The Hangar on Friday 15th March at 19:00.

Live Sports, St Paddy's Day and Funky Friday Changes

Don’t forget, we’re still showing every Six Nations game in The Hangar, with a new deal on a drink for each game. Our St Patrick’s Day party also returns once again this year and will be held in The Hangar on Sunday 17th March. There have also been some slight changes in the Funky Friday line-up. Pie and Pint night will now be incorporated into Karaoke, and RnB and Retro will remain the same. Head over to The Hangar Facebook and check out our events to find out what’s on every Friday.

Red Nose Day - 15th March

Worcester Students' Union Present’s...Pie the Officers in the face! All that’s required is a donation of just £2 to Comic Relief and you’ll be allowed the pleasure of pie-ing one of your Officers! All proceeds will go to Comic Relief.

Varsity tickets on sale Monday 4th March

Varsity is nearly upon us and we hope you are all as excited as the SU is! Tickets for this year’s Varsity will be available from the Students’ Union Welcome Desk from Monday 4th March. Visit worcsu.com/varsity to find a full list of fixtures, as well as more details about transport times and costs. Also, make sure to check out our social media throughout the Varsity period, as we’ll be live tweeting from every fixture as well as live streaming the majority of the #WorcesterWednesday fixtures in the Arena.
