Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had an enjoyable Easter break. We’ve got lots going on this semester, from Varsity to Celebration Week, another Live @ The Hangar and Dissy Day festivities amongst many other things. Varsity 2018 |  #TeamWorc

Varsity is nearly upon us and we hope you are all as excited as the SU is! Tickets and transport for the majority of fixtures are now on sale and available from the Students’ Union Welcome Desk between the hours of 9:00 and 17:00.

Merchandise is also available from the Campus Shop, with some rather saucy products on sale ranging from hats to t-shirts. #RatherBeASauce

Also, make sure to check out our social media throughout the Varsity period, as we’ll be live tweeting from every fixture as well as live streaming the majority of Area fixtures on Wednesday!

 

Raise and Give (RAG) Committee Recruitment

RAG are currently recruiting for new committee members for the upcoming academic year. RAG have raised over £10,000 so far this yearand this number is still on the increase, which is an amazing achievement for RAG and the Alzheimer’s Society, your chosen charity of the year. RAG Race Day

Worcester Students’ Union RAG are delighted to announce that the Student Race Day, in collaboration with the Worcester Racecourse, is back on Thursday 10th May 2018! 

For just £10, students with a valid ID card will receive a County Enclosure ticket, a free drink, and a pie*, making it exceptional value for a full day at the races. This year will also see a staff ticket, which is £11 for all of the above, making it an event that can be attended by all. Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the event. 

This Raceday was devised by RAG Chair Harry Lonsdale last year. Harry has worked with the Racecourse to ensure this event returned this year and has worked with the assistance of the Racecourse Marketing team and the Students’ Union to promote this event.

*Entry to the event showing a valid student ID card. Drinks available in the package are :  A choice of: a pint of Stella 4 or Banks Amber or Kingstone Press cider, a single glass of wine, or a pint of Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Lemonade or a J20 and a choice of a hot Pie

 

Institute Rep Recruitment

We’re currently recruiting new Institute Reps for the next academic year. Are you up for the challenge of representing students at Institute level? Anyone is entitled to apply to become an Institute Rep, so for more information visit: https://www.worcsu.com/news/article/anastase/Top-Tips-from-an-Institute-Rep/  Successful applicants will be eligible for £150 bursary in recognition of the time and effort undertaken.

Celebration Week tickets now on sale

Celebration Week is just over a month away! Tickets are now available to purchase either online at www.worcsu.com/celebrationweek, via the Students’ Union Welcome Desk, or via your Reach Account.

Union Awards:'22nd May 2018, 7pm, University Arena

The Union Awards celebrate particularly dedicated and committed students, focussing on both individuals and groups from Societies, Volunteering and Academic Representation (Course Reps and Institute Reps). The Union Awards also celebrates outstanding staff as nominated in the Students' Choice Awards.

Colours Ball: 23rd May 2018, 7pm, University Arena

The Colours Ball celebrates all the sporting achievements of both individual students and whole clubs from the past year.

 

Do you volunteer? Log your hours before it’s too late!

Have you been volunteering? Make sure you are logging your hours onto the V-Record. It can be anything from being a Course Rep, sitting on a Society Committee or volunteer work out in the community. It all counts and if you get 50 hours it goes onto your HEAR!

The deadline to be recognised at Union Awards is 27th April 2018. However, the final deadline for the year is the 30th June.

 

Live @ The Hangar

Live @ The Hangar returns once again! Join us this time for an evening of sure-fire entertainment with the likes of Matt Stelligwerf, Joey Page and Edinburgh Fringe sell-out performers, The Noise Next Door. This promises to be a cracking night!
