How are you getting home?

How are you getting home is an SU campaign highlighting all of the provision on and off campus to keep you safe on a night out. We always recommend you plan your journey’s in advance, stay in your group, stick to well-lit areas, and ALWAYS look out for your mates.

Below are a few helpful tips and services:

  • Cathedral Cars: Students can access fixed price taxis with Cathedral Cars. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing tips on travelling home on our social media, including not travelling alone if you can and making sure you keep your phone to hand.
  • Ask for Angela: Most venues in Worcester (including Tramps and The Hangar) use Ask for Angela. If you feel uncomfortable in a situation and would like to notify staff at the venue discretely, you can ‘Ask for Angela’ and they will help get you out of the situation safely.
  • University security and PCSOs: University security and PCSOs work on and around campus to help keep you safe. Please call them if you experience any issues.
  • Call My app: This is a safety app that allows you to share your location with University security and has an easy access SOS button.
  • Every other water: Things opening up can be really exciting – think about having every other drink as a water; it’ll not only help you stay aware but will also be a good help for the hangover in the morning!

It’s been great to see everyone out over the last couple of weeks. Don’t forget, The Hangar is a safe and welcoming environment open to all students at the University, so make sure you come and join us. We can’t wait to see you.
