RAG and the Students' Union are delighted to announce that the Student Race Day in collaboration with the Worcester Racecourse is back on Thursday 10th May 2018!
For just £10*, students with a valid ID card will receive a County Enclosure ticket a free drink, and a pie**, making it exceptional value for a full day at the races. This year will also see a staff ticket which is £11* for all of the above, making it an event that can be attended by all. Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the event.
This Race day was devised by RAG Chair Harry Lonsdale last year, Harry has worked with the Racecourse, to ensure this event returned this year and has worked with the assistance of the Racecourse Marketing team and the Students’ Union to promote this event.
"The Race Day on Thursday 10th May 2018 is a great event to finish off the University year in style, with an action packed day down at Worcester Racecourse. After the first ever Race Day last year, which attracted over 100 students and raised over £300 pounds for charity, RAG (Raise and Give) wanted to organise the event again. The event is looking to grow year on year with the support of the Students’ Union. Most importantly though this event provides the opportunity for RAG which this year is looking to raise over £300 through the event for their nominated Charity of the year ‘The Alzheimer’s Society’." Harry Lonsdale, RAG Chair 2018
In 2018 Worcester Racecourse is celebrating 300 years of racing at the historic Pitchcroft site, making this one of the oldest racecourses in the UK. As this is such a special year for Worcester Racecourse, a key part of the celebration is helping us to get 300 students/staff to the event on 10th May and hopefully raising over £300 again for Alzheimer's Society.
*80p of ticket sales will go towards Alzheimer’s Society.
