How can I get involved with the Students’ Union?
Not that we’re biased, but getting involved with your Students’ Union could be one of the best decisions you make at Uni.
From your very first day at the University of Worcester, you automatically become a member of Worcester Students’ Union. Being a member gives you access to all of the services we provide our students. Our ultimate goal is to enhance your student experience as best as we can, so here are just a few ways that you can get involved with us during your time at Worcester.
Join a sports club or society
We currently offer over 100 different sports clubs and societies. Being part of one is not only a perfect opportunity to try something new, unleash hidden talents or indulge in your passions, but also a great way find new mates.
Gain a platform for speaking about the issues close to you
We want all students to feel as though they’re represented whilst at the University of Worcester. As well as three Full Time Student Officers, we also have eight Part Time Officers who campaign around various issues, empower under-represented students and deliver change. These are elected in October and March each year.

Try out the many volunteering opportunities
We’ve partnered with a whole host of volunteer organisations, who advertise their opportunities on our website. Or you can volunteer through the Students’ Union, as part of the SU Crew or as a club or society committee member, for example. You can also keep a record of the volunteering hours you undertake and get it recorded on your degree once you graduate.
Apply to become a member of student staff
Every year, at around March time, we recruit students to join our team in a variety of roles. From working in The Hangar, to behind the Welcome Desk, to our Film and Photographer, there’s a variety of roles on offer to boost your skills and employability
Become a Course or School Rep and get the most out of your degree
Worcester Students’ Union exists to represent students’ views, making sure that your experience is the best it can be. One of the key ways we do this is through Course Reps and School Reps. Your Course Leader will organise a Course Rep Elections by the end of week 4 of your academic calendar. This is the case for all first year students (both undergraduates and postgraduates), regardless of course.
Attend our many events in The Hangar
The Hangar is your very own student bar, and the best place on campus to relax and unwind. There’s always something going on, from student run events to comedy nights to karaoke, to quiz night. Like them on Facebook at @TheHangarSU or follow them on Instagram at @worcsu.
And when things aren’t going so well…
Student life is full of opportunities and experiences, but when things aren’t going so well, our Help & Advice service is there to support you. We offer free and independent advice to all students studying at Worcester. Whether it be academic, housing or finance related or your well-being, we’re here to help.
