A statement from your Officer team regarding the conflict in Israel and Palestine.
We are all aware of the current conflict in the Middle East and we recognise the impact and distress these events can cause our students, their families, and friends. We are committed to supporting any student affected by the crisis and encourage those who might need support at this time to reach out to the services listed below – there are people here to help.
When there is conflict in the Middle East, there is a significant increase in antisemitism and islamophobia globally, including in the UK. Worcester Students’ Union has a zero-tolerance policy for any forms of hatred and discrimination, this includes (but is not limited to) islamophobia, antisemitism, and racism. No student, staff, or member of our local community should be treated in any way that suggests they are in some way responsible or accountable for the ongoing conflict.
We encourage any student who faces discrimination to report it through the University. The Students’ Union’s Help and Advice Service can support you to do so.
Teamworc is for all of you; it is a safe place, and always will be.
