University of Worcester Students Rugby Football Club
Welcome to the University of Worcester Men's Rugby Club.
This year the 1st XV will continue to play in Midlands 3B BUCS League and the 2nd XV will compete in Midlands 4B BUCS League. Both teams offer you the opportunity to play at a high and competitive standard of rugby. In the past, we have had a number of members go on to represent their national teams or play professionally. We can accommodate any ability of player whether you’re a relative beginner or a seasoned county player. There is no limit to how many players can join so if you're keen to play rugby, we want you to join!
We have league and cup fixtures home or away most Wednesdays during term time with training sessions during the week. Training takes place on Monday (7 am strength and conditioning at the arena and 8:30 pm on feet training at St.Johns campus) and Friday (7 am strength and conditioning). Also the opportunity to take advantage of S and C sessions within the Arena Suite.
The Club Committee is made up of club members who have been elected and are responsible for the running of the club. The committee is broken down into specific roles; Chairman, Vice Chairman of admin and finance, Vice Chairman of Inclusivity and Promotions, RAG representative, Team Worcester representative and two Social Secretaries.
At the end of the season, there is an annual varsity game against Gloucester. This is the biggest game of the year for the Club and the university.
