University of Worcester Archery rank 17th at British University Team Championships
On Sunday 20th Nov, Archery sent 3 people to Loughbrough University to compete in the British University Team Champs. In the team were Jasmine Simpson, Lacey Freeman and Michael Curtis. All 3 archers set personal bests in the ranking round and went on to shoot against Nottingham in the 1/32 match.
The matchplay was notably harder than any other competiton as the hosts were using Beiter hit and miss targets. This is where there are 40cm diameter plastic discs on the target and as per the name you either hit it or you miss. These discs also have a habit of causing bouncers, so many arrows were found halfway back along the range, often with the discs still attached.
The day ended with Worcester ranking 17th out of 30 teams and excited for next year.
