Congratulations on your interest in starting a new Students' Union Network!
1. Submit an application
To get started, you’ll need to fill out a short application that outlines the aims and objectives of your proposed Network. This should be submitted by you and supported by at least five other students. Please see attached form:
Network Application Form
2. Work with the SU President on your constitution
Once your application is in, the SU President will work closely with you and your committee to help draft a constitution for the Network. This will set out how your group will run and what it hopes to achieve.
3. Present your proposal to Student Council
Your proposal will then go to Student Council. The Council will consider how your Network supports the Union’s goals and benefits the wider student community.
4. Launch your Network
You can propose a new Network at any time during the year. If it’s approved, it will officially launch at the beginning of the next semester.
5. If needed, you can appeal
If the Student Council doesn’t approve the proposal, you can appeal in writing to the Executive Committee. Their decision will be final.
If you need any help at all whether it’s finding supporters, filling out the application, or drafting your constitution, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
