RAG (Raise and Give)

Raise and Give (RAG)

RAG stands for 'Raising and Giving' and that's exactly what we do. RAG is run by Student Committee who spends time organising fundraising events and other activities to raise money for nominated Charities.

Each year Student Council chooses a number of nominated charities that the Students' Union will support through the activities of the RAG (Raise and Give) group, led by a student committee.

How to Get Involved

The committee are all students whose aims are to raise thousands of pounds for charity.  Any student can be on the committee and we have great positions that could be filled by you. Have a look at the roles available below and read about the committee and the process.

There are 6 positions currently available for the 2017/18 academic year:

Each of the positions requires a slightly different set of skills which they bring to the role. They are students who are ready for a challenge and passionate about raising money. It really is a unique and often life changing opportunity whilst at University.

The Process:

  • Look through the Committee Roles and decide which role you think is right for you and that the duties they carry out would be suitable and of interest to you.
  • Once you have made a decision on the Committee Role for you please fill out our online application form telling us why you want to be part of our RAG Committee.
  • After applications close, we will then shortlist and invite students for an interview, following the interview we will get in contact with successful applicants.
  • If successfully chosen to be a part of our RAG Committee you will be asked to take part in our RAG Introduction on Tuesday 30th May.

Applications are open on Tuesday 11th April and will close on Friday 5th May. Interviews to be held on Tuesday 16th May.

Can I raise for other charities?

While the Students' Union will focus its' fundraising efforts on the nominated charities, we will support all students in their fundraising efforts. We can loan you buckets, promote your events on social media, host your events in the Pear Tree or provide space to have a stand. We can also provide expert advice on fundraising legally and help you complete street collection permits etc. We will also bank the money you raise and make sure it gets paid to the right charity. Anything you raise will also be added to the RAG total. For more information please email  SUVolunteering@worc.ac.uk
