RAG (Raise and Give)

Raise and Give (RAG)

RAG stands for 'Raise and Give' and that's exactly what we do. RAG is run by Student Committee who spends time organising fundraising events and other activities to raise money for nominated Charities.

Each year Student Council chooses a number of nominated charities that the Students' Union will support through the activities of the RAG (Raise and Give) group, led by a student committee.

How to Get Involved

Throughout the year, the RAG Committee made up of Student Volunteers will work together to create fasntatic events and come up with creative and fun fundraising activities in order to raise money for such a great cause. Applications for the 2017/18 Academic Year are now closed, check back in April 2018 for another opportunity to be a part of the Committee.

If you would like to be a part of RAG or help with any of their upcoming events and fundraising then please contact Eleanor York, Student Engagement Coordinator at e.york@worc.ac.uk.

Can I raise for other charities?

While the Students' Union will focus its' fundraising efforts on the nominated charities, we will support all students in their fundraising efforts. We can loan you buckets, promote your events on social media, host your events in the Pear Tree or provide space to have a stand. We can also provide expert advice on fundraising legally and help you complete street collection permits etc. We will also bank the money you raise and make sure it gets paid to the right charity. Anything you raise will also be added to the RAG total. For more information please email  e.york@worc.ac.uk

Here is our nominated RAG charity for 2017/18

Worcester Students' Union Raise and Give (RAG)  works to facilitate student fundraising at the University of Worcester. Every year we have nominated local charity that we will fundraise for throughout the year and who will be the recipient of all proceeds raised during RAG week. (RAG also supports students and student groups to raise for other charities during the year). This year's RAG Chairty was voted for by our students'.

Alzheimer's Society

For 2016/17 we had three nominated RAG Chairties, 'Smile for Joel, Victim Support', 'Mind', and 'Mencap' has chosen by the RAG Officer. Together students raised a total of £8533 for RAG.

Nominations are currently closed for our 2017-18 RAG Charity, and will reopen again in May. We accept nominations from both individual students and directly from charities. Charities must be based in/or do a significant amount of work in Worcestershire. Regional branches of national charities are accepted.
