Each year, our sports teams face off head-to-head against local rivals the University of Gloucestershire to see who will be crowned Varsity champions and take home the Varsity trophy.
After claiming the trophy each of the past three seasons, University of Worcester are currently on a three year winning streak, which we hope will continue at Varsity 2026!
Varsity 2025 Recap
From Wednesday 2nd April to Wednesday 9th April, our sports teams battled with the University of Gloucestershire, with the aim of bringing the Varsity trophy back for a third year in a row.
A dominant start to Gloucester Day at Oxstalls Sports Park saw TeamWorc take a commanding 5-1 lead, before losses in Men's Badminton, Women's Futsal, and American Football gave TeamGlos hope - Varsity 2025 day one ending with the scoreline closely balanced at 6-4.
Split results at Cheltenham Tigers RFC saw the two sides share the points, as Men's Rugby earned a hard-fought 17-15 victory to see TeamWorc lead 7-5 after day two of Varsity 2025.
With the Varsity title on the line, Gloucester City AFC witnessed a spectacle of Football on day three, with Men's Football clinching a 4-3 victory before Women's Football followed them with a 3-2 victory of their own. The two wins on the pitch meant a 9-5 score overall, securing the Varsity title for TeamWorc for a third successive year!
As the hosts of day four of Varsity 2025, we kicked off the ever popular Worcester Arena Night with a Wheelchair Basketball Showcase, as TeamWorc grabbed a 66-56 win over Loughborough. Heading into the Varsity fixtures, with the title confirmed and the pressure off, our Worcester squads shone with Dance, Basketball, and Netball all claiming victory to polish off a 12-5 overall score for TeamWorc!

Varsity 2024 Recap
From Monday 18th March to Wednesday 20th March, our sports teams went head-to-head with the University of Gloucestershire, with the aim of bringing the Varsity trophy back home for another year.
A dominant 6-0 performance on Day One at Oxstalls Sports Park was followed by some nailbiting action on the Oxstalls 3G Pitch on Day Two, as TeamWorc took a huge 8-1 lead into the final day as Varsity decended upon Worcester.
As the hosts of Day Three, we wrapped up the Varsity result early in the morning with Women's Badminton taking the decisive Varsity point, then continued to dominate proceedings with emphatic wins in the Football and Netball fixtures, for a 13-4 overall score!
