The yoga society was new for 2017 and we are excited to welcome all students, regardless of ability. We have a qualified instructor, Katy Chessum-Rice (LoveTree Yoga), who will be teaching baptise power vinyasa yoga. This is a style of yoga that links breath and asana - keep moving with each inhale and exhale. Baptiste Vinyasa is designed to empower the practitioner and is suitable for all levels - beginner to advanced yogi! Regular practice will increase strength, confidence and wellbeing. Be a YES to possibility!
We aim to establish a friendly community where students can come to de-stress and re-energise whilst learning to practice Yoga.
Yoga is not a competitive sport, so organised events will consist of trips to places such as the Malvern Hills or Parklands where we can practice Yoga in the beauty of the natural environment.
Students of all backgrounds, beliefs, shapes and sizes will benefit from regular Yoga practice; injuries and stress can be helped and prevented, and posture, strength and circulation can be improved. Yoga for sports athletes is also hugely beneficial in relaxing tight muscles. We hope to work closely with other sports societies and encourage students to participate and experience for themselves the benefits that Yoga can have.
Sessions will be held every Wednesday 1630-1800 in Gym 1. Please join our Facebook page to keep updated with our happenings!
