What is the club all about?
The club welcomes both men and women of any standard; whether you are a beginner or you have played at higher levels. We play at Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club, just a 15 minute walk from St John's Campus (WR2 4EZ). We would love more aspiring tennis players to come on board either as an experienced player or social player. As a member of the Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club, students have access to all the Tennis facilities available at Boughton including a brand new ball machine! Grab a mate and go have a hit anytime you want.
Our memberships consist of becoming a member of Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club from September to September. This will grant you access to the club tennis facilities including booking of courts, as well as access to Boughton Park Social, Club and potentially Competitive Team Tennis.
A breakdown of our University Club sessions can be seen below:
Monday 18:00pm - 19:00pm - Social Tennis Session
This session is for all abilities and is a great way to improve your tennis, or the opportunity to have a go at a new sport and meet new friends.
Tuesday 18:00pm - 19:30pm - Team Tennis Session
This session is for those individuals selected to represent the University Teams. This will be a coach-led session and will consist of fitness, drills and matchplay to prepare players for upcoming BUCS fixtures.
Wednesday 12:00pm - 14:00pm - Hitting Session
This session is for all members wishing to come along and hit with other members. This will be non coach-led and players will need to arrange hitting partners and balls. 2 courts will be pre-booked for members to use with the only exception being when there is a home BUCS fixture in which case will be a great chance to get behind the team and support!
Social Tennis
We have ample opportunities for players to come along and play both recreationally and socially! Monday evenings are a great way to mix-in with other members and throughout the year. We will also be running some internal 'Round Robins' where you can play against other members within the tennis club and yes... prizes will be on offer! We enjoy Worcester Wednesdays (social nights) with lots of fun games, fancy dress themes... you name it! We also have a Christmas meal and end of year meal/presentation. Even if tennis isn't for you, we welcome anyone to attend and join as a social member! Having access to the club facilities and abilities to book courts, you can bring another member down and hit any time so long as there is a court free and you have booked it!
Competitive Tennis
We have 1 Men's BUCS team situated in Midlands Tier 3 (singles and doubles). We have opportunities to also compete in the Fast 4 BUCS Leagues for both Mens and Womens (More info on this at our Sports and Societies Fair and Give it a Go Sessions). Although we do not have a Ladies BUCS team this year, there are ample opportunities to compete for Boughton Park LTC and/or in the BUCS Fast 4 Leagues.

- Enable you to represent Boughton Park in Herefordshire & Worcestershire Tennis Leagues in Mens, Womens and Mixed matches (Trial Pending)
- Access to UOW Tennis Social evenings
BUCS Membership - £140.00
This membership will allow you to:
- Attend our Tuesday Night Coach-Led Team Training Session
- Enable you to play competitively for the university in BUCS matches and university friendly matches.
- Access to Boughton Park LTC Tennis Facilities
- Attendance at our Monday Club Social Tennis evenings at any point throughout the year as well as our Wednesday hitting sessions
- Access to booking courts
- Access to Boughton Park LTC social and club sessions
- Enable you to represent Boughton Park in Herefordshire & Worcestershire Tennis Leagues in Mens, Womens and Mixed matches (Trial Pending)
- Access to UOW Tennis Social evenings
