Academic Culture Conference 2025

The first ever conference organised by our society, with the goal of making this a solid fixture of Worcester's calander. A conference that desires to bring together a variety of disciplines across academia, in order to engage students in discussions relating to how all elements of academic culture are up for debate. Crucially, to get students thinking of how they can make and/or inspire others to influence positive change within the structures of University but also beyond, for research doesn't end outside of these walls!

Guest speakers:

Dr Beverley Gilbert - Senior Lecturer in Domestic/Sexual Voilence and Criminology

Proffessor Yorke - Research informing human rights regions, governments, and nongovernmental organisations. Founding member of REPECAP (Network for the Abolition of the Death Penalty and Cruel Punishment)

Richard Hadly - Research revolving around the exploration of the effects on individuals and groups, regarding cmpetition and neoliberalism, arguably the defining ideology of our age; with a focus on academic culture

Abstracts for the topics that shall be covered by the above speakers will be released nearer the date of the event. Follow our socials to keep informed!
