Hi everyone! My name is Jack Bufton and I am running to be your new Vice President of Student Activities. I am currently a 4th year student and have been the proud chairman of Social Sports for the past 3 years which has seen a large amount of growth in that time. This achievement has now made me hungry to help other sports clubs and societies to enhance student experience across the university.
My Manifesto aims:
- Introduce a weekly health and wellbeing day at the SU including pop-up activities and a variety of recreational sport sessions. I also look to offer drop-in sessions whether it be individual or as part of a group, which will offer students opportunities to unwind and socialise.
- Introducing ‘TeamWorc Day’: a fundraising event for all societies and sports clubs to showcase their individual talents. This will bring students together to raise money for RAG, whilst creating a ‘TeamWorc’ community feeling.
- Increase awareness of clubs and societies across campuses through a variety of platforms using TeamWorc TV. With a weekly highlights newsfeed, showing BUCS results, highlights of Club fixtures and society events, as well as promoting club/society fixtures, sessions and charity events.
- Launch more SU run events across campus and in The Hangar to increase student engagement with the Students Union and enhance student experience.
