This Is Me; This Is You; This Is Your SU! Vote Sammie #1

Hi I’m Sammie!

  • Postgraduate Archaeology and disabled student

During my undergraduate degree;

  • Volunteer SU Crew member

  • Chair of the Archaeology Society

  • Course and School Rep

You’ll often find me working within the SU within my student staff role as Welcome Desk Assistant, where I have helped many of you with a range of queries.

I’m passionate about the student experience, particularly mental health, disabilities and increasing postgraduate and international student engagement. I believe I’m well equipped to help represent you, working with you to voice your views as the SU President, improving the student experience.

I aim to;

  1. Improve awareness of invisible disabilities and available resources on mental health, working with the counselling team to further develop funds spent on services for students, communicating regularly with those waiting for appointments

  2. Drive sustainability within the university, working on more inclusive options and environmentally friendly utensils, including Vegan and allergy-free

  3. Develop a podcast to increase engagement with our diverse undergraduate and postgraduate students

  4. Start a #ThisIsMe campaign, highlighting the importance of your wellbeing, communicating and engaging with the SU and University

  5. Continue to progress the new app from your current president Harry, further for all year-round information on freshers, varsity and more!

An exciting and uncertain time ahead for all students. I would be honoured to represent you next year, let’s build up your SU together.

This is me; this is you; this is your SU! Vote Sammie #1
