My name is Rowan Upton and I'm running for Vice President of Student Activities. I am currently a proud member of the Men’s Cricket committee and play an active role in decision making within the society. Through hard work of the committee we have worked hard to drastically change the image of Men’s Cricket. Being part of a society has been one of the many positive things to come out of my university experience, and I’m incredibly keen to be given the opportunity to help our teams and societies thrive.
- Encouraging a positive Culture amongst societies, being part of society will be a positive and friendly experience. To encourage a culture where all students are proud to represent Worcester.
- Developing community links throughout Worcester will provide valuable coaching and volunteering opportunities as well as improving the image of students in throughout the local community.
- TeamWorc ‘What’s on page’ to be introduced on Instagram, this will include results, fixture lists and society spotlights to recognise the hard work of our societies through a different form of media.
- Further advancements on mental health and wellbeing awareness. Encouraging societies to work alongside mental health charities, and welcome more guest speakers. Promoting how being active can lead to good mental health, rather than just focusing on it from a negative perspective.
- Encouraging more Active students. Adding more taster sessions and recreational events. This will help improve social links for students and will result in a healthier standard of living.
