The University of Worcester Volleyball society is a very open, friendly and competitive team environment where all playing abilities are welcomed all year round (beginner-advanced level). Our aim is to take on board students interested in playing volleyball for fun, alongside those wishing to challenge themselves to gain further skills and confidence in order to become better athletes. We truly believe that everyone deserves a chance to excel in this sport, and to truly gain the skills and develop the understanding of how the sport works.

The society plays in league and cup competitions throughout the year with other universities at a high standard. We also cater to those wishing to develop their skills from a lower level with Men’s and Women’s GVA teams. These teams are entered into local leagues in order for students to gain experience through friendly competition. This can also lead to players potentially gaining court time as part of the BUCS team, many current players have gone through this beneficial process we have in place.

Joint Men’s and Women’s team socials are held every week and all details involving the venue/theme/times are revealed on the Facebook group by the social secretaries during the week prior. Weekly attendance is highly encouraged to all members of the society, it is a great way of getting to know your teammates better, building bonds/chemistry and enjoying fun experiences with others. It is also seen as an enjoyable experience as there will be themes to the night which will then ensure that the team also bond through this experience but again we highly recommend that you join us with both the teams and the social evenings.
