SAUCE embodies everything our student groups stand for. Clubs and Societies are such an essential part of university life and the passion and dedication you bring never goes unnoticed. The Saucies are all about highlighting the amazing work you do and a way for us to say thank you for the hard work and dedication you put into our community. The SU wouldn't be the same without our Clubs and Societies and we want to give you something back.
So, keep smashing it, keep making a difference and remember, "You'd Rather Be a Sauce!"

The criteria is as follows. (Please note- ones with an A next to them are ones you must apply for)
Earn One Sauce Point for:
Consistent visual content on social media
Attend Sauce Council
Gain a nomination for Club or Society of the Month
A committee member wins Volunteer of the Month
Host a RAG event- A
Host an event in The Hangar A
Host an event with an external speaker A
Host a joint event or trip with another student group A
Host a trip with an overnight stay A
Host a RAG campaign A
Host a campaign alongside another student group A
Submit a nomination for a Super Saucy award for another student group A
Submit nominations in the Sauce Awards
Vote in the Sauce Awards
Send minutes of your AGM to the Student Activities Team
Earn Two Sauce Points for:
Attend Committee Fest
Content featured on SU social media channels
Hold your student group elections
Receive a donation from a local business A
Attend an event hosted by the SU or another student group A
Lead a campaign A
Earn Three Sauce Points for:
Win Club or Society of the Month
Host an event A
Have 50% of members vote in the Leadership Elections
Have three members attend the All Student Meeting
Earn Four Sauce Points for:
Host an event linked with an external organisation A
Host a trip linked with an external organisation A
Run a campaign linked with a local organisation A
Complete all re-affiliation tasks on time
Earn Six Sauce Points for:
Have 70% of members vote in the Leadership Elections
Gain external sponsorship
Provide training that results in a recognised qualification A
Earn Nine Sauce Points for:
Have 90% of members vote in the Leadership Elections
Gain sauce points to earn your Club or Society stars, and get some great rewards:
1 Star = a feature on the SU website and Instagram
2 Stars = your Club or Society featured on the wall of fame and screens in the SU
3 Stars = photos for your Club or Society from Dave (Purple Swan)
4 Stars = free entry to Quiz Night in The Hangar for all members
5 Stars = one of our Spin the Wheel prizes
Spin the wheel prizes include:
- 20% discount on tickets for our end of year party
- 2 bottles of spirits
- Your own event in The Hangar, with decorations, photography, and a welcome drink provided
- 20% off club travel for the year
- Wildcard - ask for whatever you want, but don't go too crazy because we can still say no!
