University of Worcester Women's Hockey!
Welcome to the University of Worcester Women's Hockey Club's SU page! Here, you will be able to find out all sorts of information about our club, such as memberships, socials, gamedays and more!
We are a warm, inviting and friendly club, with our main aim being making your University experience the best it possibly can, all whilst making friends for life and memories you will carry forever.
Memberships + Teams
Everyone is welcome at our club, whether you have been playing hockey as long as you've been able to walk or if you have nev
er picked up a stick before! We offer 3 different membership types:
Competitive Membership:
This membership allows you to take part in our BUCS teams, alongside training, and coming to social!
Standard Membership:
This membership allows you to come along to both training and socials, and opportunities to play BUCS can be presented throughout the season!
Social Membership:
This membership allows you to come along to our socials!
We have one BUCS team, and we have one Development team. Both teams play plenty of games, and away days are always fun! Both teams often train together, so you will get to know absolutely everyone, no matter the team you play for!
Varsity
Varsity is considered by a lot of us as the highlight of the season! Each year all the sports teams at the University of Worcester go head-to- head with the University of Gloucester in our Varsity! This is a week of high quality sport, with all important varsity points on the line! The University with the most points wins at the end. Women's Hockey have had continued success at varsity for the last four years, beating Gloucester four times in a row!
We plan to continue our success in at Varsity 2027, so make sure to follow us on the journey!
Socials
Our social schedule is busy! Each Wednesday we have a social, where we get all dressed up in fancy dress to a specific theme, play lots of fun and silly games, and - if we want to - have a drink or two! We then head off to our local, Tramps, for a dance! After training on a Monday, a few of us join our friends at Men's Hockey for a quick pint at the Wheatsheaf Inn!
We also offer sober socials, which can be anything from sign making for Varsity, to walking around Worcester of a morning! We do a variety of sober socials, so there will always be something going on you can come along to!
RAG
We work with the University and other societies throughout the year to raise money for charity! We host many different events, like quizzes, bingo's and charity matches! We are very passionate about giving back, and we always try and make our RAG events fun no matter what the event itself is!
