We want to hear from you about what you would like to see us organise. Please feel free to drop any of us a message with any questions, we are all more than happy to help. Events we have planned will be listed below. We plan to arrange collaborations with other societies, trips and socials!
Committee Positions
As of the 24th April 2023 we still have committee positions available. If you would like to run this society next year please reach out to us!
Photos of our crafternoon stall and videos and phots from our Give It A Go session can be seen on our social media platforms! We have had amazing talks from Neil Howie, Amy Cherry, Kay Mohanna and other amazing speakers - we are so thankful for amazing staff willing to share their insights with us!
We have also had two fundraising days! First Pride in STEM and then we followed that up with a Movember Games Night.
We ran our Give it a go - we watched blue planet and chatted. We had a pub quiz in town and we did Pumpkin Carving on campus. We also supported UniBoob with the 24hour Bikeathon. Finally we had our Halloween Social in the Hangar. We watched the School of Science and the Environment's Research Seminars. We collaborated with the LGBTQ+ Network to host a LGBTQ+ in STEM day event where we raised £101 for Stonewall! Also, Dr Steve Coles did a virtual talk about his current research on Acute Myeloid Leukaemia virtually for us.
INCLUSIVITY STATEMENT
The Biology Society is open to all and we are always trying to be more inclusive by minimising barriers to participation and providing a wide range of opportunities to a diverse range of members. If you feel there is a barrier stopping you from becoming a member or you are seeking support reach out to us!
