Whether you are an elite athlete or love to support from the stands, sport should be something that everyone has the right to participate in and watch, free from any form of discrimination.

We want Varsity 2023 to be a set of fixtures that can be enjoyed by every single person, whether they are a player, a spectator, or are part of the wider university community. Throughout this year’s Varsity, we want to continue to drive the message that sport is for everyone, and that our Varsity fixtures are a safe space for all to support, participate in, and enjoy.

We are taking a stand together as TeamWorc and TeamGlos, encouraging our students to embed inclusivity into the culture of their sports clubs. Through the #Proud2Play campaign, we are continuing to improve and promote inclusion across our campuses and within all of our student groups.

We want to do our part within our universities to lower barriers to participation in sport. We’re taking a step towards a culture and society that is free of discrimination, where not just equality and equity are achieved, but all barriers are removed, diversity is celebrated, and inclusion is fully embedded within every aspect of university sport.

This Varsity we will all be #Proud2Play
