As you may have noticed, last week saw the Students’ Union elections in full swing. A total of 13 candidates stood for the positions of Students’ Union President, Vice President Education, and Vice President Student Activities.
All candidates and their supporters campaigned tirelessly throughout the week, attending our two Question Time events, taking over the Students’ Union social media channels, and spending their days on campus engaging with students.
Through their campaigning, and the hard work of SU staff, the elections were our most successful on record, with total of 1844 students casting their vote!
On Friday night, the elections culminated in the Rubber Ducky Results Night. This was a chance for us to celebrate all of the candidates and say a big thank you to everyone who made the elections such a fantastic experience for everyone involved. And most important was the announcement of the winners!
Therefore, we’re delighted to confirm the winners of the 2018 Leadership Elections, and the new Officer team for 2018-19 are;

Vice President Education – Euan Morrison
Vice President Student Activities – Harrison Jarrett
These elections were one of our most successful yet, seeing a record number of votes cast and some wonderful campaigning from the candidates. So on behalf of everyone at the SU, we'd like to say a big thank you to all who didn't duck out of democracy! Lucy, Euan and Harrison will take up their post this June and we can't wait for them to get started!
