Are you an energetic and organised individual who is passionate about sport and about supporting and developing students?
We are looking for someone to develop our sports offer from the Students’ Union, both competitive and non-competitive, and to support a wide range of existing clubs to grow and excel. An important part of the role is enhancing processes and procedures around the organisation of competitive and recreational sport, including health and safety, coaching, travel and finance. You will support clubs to apply for available funding (e.g. through national governing bodies) and for development and training opportunities to upskill students. You will also help develop the Union’s intelligence around those who participate in sport and physical exercise to recommend targeted ways of increasing participation.
You will play a key role in organising the Union’s annual Committee Training Conference, Sports and Societies Fair, Varsity competition, and Colours Ball.
You will work closely with the elected student Officers, in particular the Vice President Student Activities, and the Union’s Chief Executive, as well as with University colleagues and coaches involved in the delivery of performance and participative sport.
You will be a person with enthusiasm, initiative, with strong interpersonal skills who has previous experience in a sports environment and a high level of commitment to optimising the student experience.
Students’ Unions are unique and excellent places to work and this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a difference, whilst developing your own skills and portfolio.
Worcester Students’ Union is committed to equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from individuals regardless of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, gender, marital status or disability status.
We want to support diverse and inclusive work environments and are actively looking for people who share our values.
