As an Education Rep I found the ability to utilise my experience and skills already learnt to improve the student experience as thrilling. I have always been someone who is willing to challenge the norm and very confident in everything I have done. I have involved myself within many roles and aspects of the university, these roles include Education Rep for the Student Council in 2018/2019 as well as a Student Ambassador on open days and applicant days. I have also, along with a fellow education student, put forward the proposal and developed the new role of Department of Education and Inclusion Representative; therefore, not only representing my own course at open days but developing my own knowledge of all the departments courses in order to represent them all.
I have learnt so many transferable skills over the years, notably training, managerial skills, organisational skills, time management and the true value of listening and giving feedback. All these skills will enable me to effectively fulfill the role on the student council as Education Rep for a further year. I have already completed a number of courses which have prepared me for a role within education.
I believe I have the ability to work well as an individual and in a team situation. I consider myself hard working, conscientious and accurate within my work. I am able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Please vote for me as your student councillor.
