This year we will be working in partnership with Headway Worcester Trust, a charity which supports people with acquired brain injuries. Together we will be running a number of volunteering projects ranging from writing press releases and designing a website to reinventing their vintage charity shop in Lowesmoor.
Every year, about 135,000 people suffer a brain injury. Headway Worcester Trust is a charity which provides support to adults with acquired brain damage, supporting and providing services for them and their families. Visit the Headway Worcester Trust website to find out more about Headway.
Volunteers are vital to the work of Headway. Students will find Headway an ideal charity to work with on a project, either as part of their studies or as valuable work experience. There are a number of activities, social and educational events volunteers can get involved with as well as 'behind the scenes' roles. To find out more about the benefits of volunteering, click here.
These projects have been developed to suit you as students and to work around university holidays and exam periods. Many of the behind the scenes roles are very flexible, however projects working with clients directly require commitment. This is because you will be working with vulnerable clients who will need to be able to trust and rely on you.
Use the links below to find out more information about the projects you can get involved in with Headway this academic year.
Headway Worcester Trust recognise that students volunteer for a variety of reasons. Headway also want to ensure that students are capable and confident in their volunteering and skills.
For this reason Headway offer a wide range of training sessions which all volunteers can take advantage of.
