Here we are again, renewing the everlasting rivalry we have against our closest neighbours University of Gloucestershire. Ever since I began my University career, and played in my first Varsity match, I knew it would be the highlight of every year for me and it has never failed to deliver.

Last year's was the biggest Varsity ever; we had attendances of over 1000 students for several events, and we are only looking to make it bigger this year. We have done everything to ensure our sportsmen and women are competing at the best facilities and our supporters have the best experience possible.

This year we are very hopeful of a Varsity win. I believe that we match up very well against Gloucestershire’s sports teams and this could be our year. American Football kick off the event at Gloucester on Sunday 27th March then there will be a whole day of sport including Dance, Cheerleading, Badminton, Netball and finally Basketball on Wednesday the 30th March in our sports hall where we need to show our support. Our ladies Football are playing at Worcester City on Monday 28th March, and then we're at Gloucester on Wednesday 6th April with Volleyball and Hockey before finishing with Rugby at Kingsholm in the evening! Make sure you get your tickets and show your support!

Varsity is a chance for us, University of Worcester, to show everyone what a small university can achieve; that numbers do not matter but the talent that we have at our University will shine through and provide Worcester with a well deserved Varsity win. Worcester needs its students to come out and show their support for our men and women, we need to dominate at home and make Worcester a fortress, turn away fixtures into home fixtures and show Gloucestershire why we are University of Worcester!
