Known to players and supporters as The Tigers Gloucestershire’s Ladies’ Basketball side have certainly earned their stripes on the court this season. Unbeaten at home in the league the team only missed out on the Western Conference 2B title on points difference to Swansea and so will be keen to end the season with some silverware by retaining the Varsity title they won convincingly at Worcester last year.
The season schedule has not been kind to Worcester’s Ladies Basketball players, who thanks to walkovers and league withdrawls have only played one fixture since Christmas. When they did see action though the side were impressive; leading the way in Midlands Conference 2B for much of the season. The club has benefitted this year with close links to the Worcester Wolves women’s team and it is hoped this added experience will steer them toward Varsity glory.
We have 400 tickets available for Worcester supporters, they include admission to the Men's Basketball at 8pm and are priced at £2.. If the full allocation is not sold you will be able to pay on the door at the event, though we do advise you to purchase a ticket in advance to avoid missing out as the capacity cannot be raised. Tickets are on sale now from the Students' Union and will remain on sale up until 4:30pm on Tuesday 29th March.
If you can't get to this fixture you can get live updates on Twitter, by following @worcsusportsocs and keeping an eye out for the #VarsityGlosWorc hashtag.
Reports on each fixture will be added to the Results section of www.worcsu.com/varsity within 24 hours of their conclusion.
The Worcester News will also be carrying reports from each day of Varsity.
