Bus Travel

Most bus services in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are operated by First Group. To find out more about their services click here.

The University Shuttle - the 31 bus travels between the St Johns Campus and the hospital, via Worcester city centre, and comes through campus every 10 minutes. It can be caught from outside the Students' Union. To view the timetable click here

Student Tickets are available from the University Finance Office, the Tourist Information Centre on the High St or Andrews News, Crowngate.

 

Coach Travel

If you are travelling outside of Worcestershire you might consider coach travel.

The two main companies are National Express and Megabus. Whilst Megabus currently does not depart from Worcester, you can easily catch a bus from Cheltenham, Gloucester & Birmingham.

NUS Extra Card Discount

If you have an NUS Extra Card you can receive student discount on both Mega Bus (10%) and National Express (25%) coach travel. To find out more click here.

Train Travel

From Worcester you can easily catch a train to Birmigham, London & Bristol.

16-25 Rail Card

The 16-25 rail card gives users up to 1/3 off travel and can also be purchased by full-time students of any age.

  • Costing just £28 for a 1 year Railcard or £65 for a 3 year Railcard, the 16-25 Railcard saves you 1/3 off rail fares across Britain for a year.
  • If you’re between 16-25, or over 26 and in full-time education, you’re eligible to apply.
  • Your 16-25 Railcard will save you 1/3 on rail fares including all Standard and First Class Advance tickets.
  • You can use it anytime on weekends, Public Holidays and during the week. The only restriction is that if you travel at or before 10am Monday to Friday (except during July and August) a minimum fare of £12 will apply.

If you're over 26 and in full-time education, you'll need:

  • To prove that you're studying full-time at a recognised school/college
    To attend for over 15 hours a week, at least 20 weeks a year
    To show an ISIC card (International Student Identity Card), NUS card featuring the ISIC logo or complete and certify the 'Mature students only' section of the application form,. This form needs to be certified by the establishment where you are studying
