About Us

Aerial Fitness

Welcome to the University of Worcester's Aerial Fitness Society!

We are a student-led unisex society with a key focus on the inclusivity and empowerment of our members. We are keen to reinvent the image of Aerial Fitness and encourage members of the University community to try a new sport - many of our members had never tried anything like this before coming to university so there's no need to worry if you've never done anything like this before, you'll soon be quite literally flying!

Aerial fitness is a sport based on the foundations of yoga, gymnastics and dance, so it's a great sport to try if you want to improve your overall fitness in multiple areas. Aerial is great for building your upper body strength, core strength, flexibility and elegance. Our sessions are taught by our professional instructor, Imogen and Amber, they cater for all abilities, you'll be able to learn at your own pace and will make progress in no time!  As a club we are looking to hold showcases and explore the possibility of competing in Inter-University competitions, however, it is completely optional to participate and we only want you to do what you're comfortable with, there's no pressure at all!

We are a growing community and provide our members with another social group outside of their courses and halls, it's a great way to meet more people across the University community. Every Wednesday we go out for sports and societies social night, they are themed evenings where all clubs and societies get dressed up in fun outfits and go out in Worcester together. If you cannot attend Aerial lessons, don't feel ready just yet, or are looking for a slightly cheaper option, you are able to purchase a social membership; this allows you to come to all our social events and Worcester student nights. Socials are always fun and a great way to meet a new, super friendly and welcoming group of people!

Weekly Aerial classes (pole) are included in your membership fee; we have our own set of poles that we use for trianing at the university, so there's no need to worry about travelling to an external venue. Each session is free and will vary, we highly encourage all those who have full memberships to come.

Worcester Socials at Tramps and Mode: All members welcome

On Wednesdays, our Social Secs choose a fancy dress theme and we all get dressed up and go and enjoy the student night together. We play lots of games, have lots of laughs and you don't have to drink if you don't want to.

(Please check our Facebook group to keep up to date on the upcoming week's theme and to let us know if you will be attending)
