► Stay Safe

Stay Safe!

We don't want to worry you and we are sure you will find Worcester a very safe and friendly place, but it is always good to be prepared - forewarned is forarmed!

Belongings

The University of Worcester provides possessions insurance through Endsleigh Insurance for all students in halls of residence or University allocated off campus properties. This covers a range of belongings within your room, including laptops, sports and electrical equipment, clothes and frozen food.

We recommend you review your cover by visiting www.endsleigh.co.uk/reviewcover to check what possessions are insured and consider upgrading your insurance to cover mobile phones or your laptop outside of your room.

If you experience any trouble in your halls OUTSIDE of working hours such as noise disturbances or misbehaviour then you can text security on 07977973956 who will deal with your problem accordingly.

Out and About

Never put your bag down on a night out, keep it with you at all times, even when you're dancing. Have a back up plan that should you lose your phone/keys/wallet for any reason you know how to get back to your room safely - make sure someone knows where you are going and who you are with.

Do not leave your drink unattended for any time. Give it to a friend to guard or finish it off before racing off to dance or visit the bathroom. Many supermarkets sell 'spikeys' which can be put in the top of bottles.

Avoid walking home by yourself in the dark. There are regular buses from the City Centre, or if it is late get a taxi.

Health & Wellbeing

Register with a local doctors surgery when you arrive. Some doctors surgerys will be at our Freshers' Fair on Monday 19th, signing up new patients.

There is lots on information on health & wellbeing, from bullying to your nearest hospital to sexual health, on the Student Advice Service pages. Our Student Advisor, Kate Gynn is always on hand to give you free and independent advice if you need it.

For more information on staying safe during your time at University, visit the Student Advice Service pages.
