Things to Bring
What to remember when you make the move to Worcester.
Bedding
It's easy to forget your duvet and bed linen as you'll most likely be sleeping in it the night before. Make sure your new home is cosy by bringing your favourite duvet cover and comfiest pillow.
Iboprofen/Paracetamol/Cold and Flu Medicine
When 4000 new students move in and spend the next 2 weeks meeting each other, there's going to be a few cases of the sniffles. You won't want to miss you're first few weeks of lectures so make sure you've got medicine available, in case you're one of the unlucky ones to get 'freshers' flu'.
If you forget:
The Union shop sells a vareity of cold and flu medicine or you can pop to one of the convenience stores in St Johns Campus or in the City Centre.
Condoms
Without going into too much detail, stay safe during your time at University.
If you forget:
The Students' Union runs a free, confidential condom delivery service, not just on campus but to all our students in the community and partner colleges.
For free condoms just text your details to 07804 055501.
Extension Cabels
Avoid sitting on the floor in the corner of your room because that's the only socket you can find available to charge your phone or plug your hair straightners in. Bring an extension cable to plug your electrical items in where you want them to be.
If you forget:
There are several stores in the City Centre where you will be able to pick up an extension cabel or two.
Coat Hangers
No one wants to look crumpled on their first night out.
If you forget:
Many of the bigger supermarkets stock coat hangers as do the homeware stores at Blackpole Retail Park.
Photos, postcards etc.
Each room in halls has a pinboard for you to decorate how you like. Make your room feel like home by bringing photos, postcards, posters etc. to pin up on your board. And don't forget the pins too!
If you forget:
You'll soon be caught on camera throughout Freshers' Week with lots of new friends; share your photos around and print some off at various shops in the City.
Phone charger
Small and easy to forget but make sure you don't so you can speak to your family and friends whilst you are settling in.
Holdall/Sports bag
The massive suitcase you brought with you to move into University probably isn't ideal for a weekend trip back home. Remember to bring an overnight bag for any of those small trips you are likely to make.
