Children and adults are invited to get into the spirit of the Paralympic Games with a free taster session in wheelchair basketball at the University of Worcester.
As part of the national Join in Local Sport initiative, the University and the Sports Partnership Herefordshire & Worcestershire are hosting the free session on Saturday, August 18th. Welcome and introductions take place from 9am to 10am with coaching sessions and games from 10am to 2pm. Ian Richards, from British Wheelchair Basketball, will be sharing his skills at the event.
All ages and abilities from 12 upwards are welcome– you don’t need to have a disability – and wheelchairs will be provided. It takes place in the Sports Centre at the St John’s Campus in Worcester. The session links in the with Talent ID programme.
The aim of Join in Local Sport is to encourage people across the UK to turn up, take part and join in at their local sports club on the 18-19 August, the first weekend between the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
