Home | Elections
Campaigning lasts for just over a week, finishing when voting ends. This is your opportunity to publicise yourself to your fellow students using any means available. Your publicity material might include T-Shirts, posters, stickers or electronic means. The rules around campaigning will be explained at the Candidates’ Briefing Session which must be attended by all nominees. All candidates will be allocated a budget which must not be exceeded.
Campaigns usually revolve around the candidates’ manifestos which are a public declaration of your intentions should you get elected. We’re also introducing “A Minute to Win It” video clips which will be posted on the website. Candidates’ Question Times (only for Sabbatical positions) Candidates’ Question Time is when students get the chance to find out more about your views, your priorities and why you think they should vote for you. This will take place in the Yelland Lecture Theatre on Tuesday 2nd March from 5-7pm.
The Students’ Union will publicise this event, but it’s really down to candidates themselves to encourage students to come along and get involved.
