Once a candidate has 50% or more of the votes, they are elected, but if a candidate is eliminated because they have the lowest number of votes, voters’ 2^nd choices come in to play. Where students do not wish to support any of the candidates standing for a particular position, they may opt to choose ‘RON’ (re-open nominations).
