Home | Your Voice | Student Council What is Student Council?Student Council is made up of more than 30 student representatives, including all of the Executive Committee members plus elected hall reps, student group reps, course reps and postgradudate reps. All of these representatives are known as Student Councillors. Any student can submit what's known as a motion to Student Council - a proposal about some kind of change which you think should happen. Student Council meets 8 times during the year, so there are lots of chances for you to make a real difference if your motion is supported.
MotionsAny student can put forward a proposed Motion/Policy to Student Council. This can be a change you would like to see be implemented. All Student Councilors will then vote on your Motion at the next meeting and either agree or deny it. If you want to submit a Motion please email Janet Sprague at j.sprague@worc.ac.uk 7 days before a Student Council meeting.

What is Student Council?
Student Council is the governing body of Worcester Students' Union. It is the means by which your elected student representatives are held to account, and the forum where students can contribute to the continual process of ensuring that the Students' Union is acting in the interest of the student body.
Any student can submit a motion (policy) to Student Council and any student can attend Student Council. However, only Student Councilors can vote on motions. Student Councilors are made up of the following groups
AGM
Once a year an Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held which will replace Student Council and the meeting will concern itself with the budget for the forthcoming year and other organisational wide issues.
Each month Student Council meetings take place to discuss a range of issues brought forward by students. These meetings are advertised through posters, flyers and online 14 days before they take place, to give you enough time to prepare for them.
