► Board of Trustees

Worcester Students’ Union is currently an exempt charity, but the organisation will soon be applying to the Charity Commission for registration. The organisation is an unincorporated association, although the Board of Trustees may take the decision in the future to incorporate (become a company). A Board of Trustees has been established, which comprises the three Officer Trustees (the Sabbatical Officers), three external trustees and four student trustees, recruited and selected by the Appointments Committee.

The constitution of Worcester Students’ Union (its governing document) sets out the membership of the Board of Trustees. It is important, as a student-led organisation, that the Board has a majority of student and officer trustees, but external trustees help to provide continuity and bring a range of skills and expertise to the Board which will strengthen the organisation.
