Colours Ball 2011 at Worcestershire County Cricket Club

On Friday 13th May Worcester Students' Union through caution to supersticion and held the 2011 Colours Ball at New Road, the home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club. This annual event serves to reward and acknowledge the invovlement of students in our many clubs and societies. This year over 200 students attended the event, with University of Worcester Registrar John Ryan and Senior Sports Lecturer Glyn Harding joining the Union's own Vice-President Sports & Societies Liam Hughes to present the awards and colours.

There are three levels of 'Colours' which are awarded to members of clubs and societies as nominated by the respective club or society committee. There are also fourteen acheivement awards which are handed out, eleven of these are voted for by the respective club and society committees. Of the other three shields two are decided by the Students' Union based on nominations put forward by the club and society committees, whilst the remaining award is decided solely by the Students' Union.
