BUAFL 2009 Season

After recruiting about 30 players the newly named Worcester Royals entered the BUAFL league and had the first full fixture list to fulfil. After also hiring 4 coaches the Royals were confident going into their first league game against the Oxford Cavaliers on home soil. The fixture list also included games against Plymouth, Reading and reigning champions Birmingham.

The season however proved a lot harder than expected and after a shakey start the Royals didn't manage to win a game in the first season within the league. This however didn't deter the players and after being entered into the Varsity event, the team hosted local rivals the Gloucester Gladiators at the University. This game saw passion and pride take over and everything the Royals did turned into scores. Touchdown after touchdown saw the Royals pull off a 38-0 victory to record their first victory of the season.
